READING ROOM International selection

In the READING ROOM, excerpts from the 20 theatre texts of the international and Dutch-language selection will be presented in staged readings by actors.
The Dutch-language selection will be read in English. Dutch, French and German translations of the excerpts are available as far as possible.

Sami Ibrahim is a writer from the UK. He tells the story of a Palestinian couple, surrounded by political tension, who just decide to go dogging. In the award winning piece ‘Two Palestinians go dogging’, Ibrahim uses the lens of humour to explore how the everyday becomes political and the political becomes everyday in a conflict zone.

Natalka Vorozhbyt is a playwright, screenwriter, film director and сurator of social theater projects from Kiev, Ukraine. Her film ‘Bad Roads’ tells four short stories, along the roads of Donbass during the war. Chaos is everywhere, but even in this world, where tomorrow may never come, not everyone is defenseless. Even the most innocent victims may have their turn at taking charge.
