READING ROOM International selection

In the READING ROOM, excerpts from the 20 theatre texts of the international and Dutch-language selection will be presented in staged readings by actors.
The Dutch-language selection will be read in English. Dutch, French and German translations of the excerpts are available as far as possible.
The International selection will be read in Dutch. English, French and German translations of the fragments are available as far as possible.

Amir Gudarzi is an Austrian author and playwright. In ‘Wonderwomb’, he tells of the oil that keeps the engine of capitalism running, for which people risk everything and which symbolises the transformation of our world like no other substance. We watch how the oil itself looks into the future.

Thomas Depryck is a Belgian playwright. In ‘Macadam Circus’, a man suddenly comes face to face with a small elephant that no one else in the city seems to see. He decides to take it home, but a minor problem: you cannot keep such an animal at home without facing the consequences.
