READING ROOM Dutch-language selection

In the READING ROOM, excerpts from the 20 theatre texts of the international and Dutch-language selection will be presented in staged readings by actors.
The Dutch-language selection will be read in English. Dutch, French and German translations of the excerpts are available as far as possible.
The International selection will be read in Dutch. English, French and German translations of the fragments are available as far as possible.
MEET&GREET
After each READING ROOM of authors from Dutch-speaking selections, we offer the opportunity for (international) professionals to briefly meet the authors, ask questions and exchange contact details.
You can register for such a MEET&GREET in advance or immediately after the lectures in the READING ROOM.

Esther Duysker en Floor Houwink Ten Cate
Esther Duysker is a screenwriter, playwright and radio play writer. Floor Houwink ten Cate is a director and writer. Their play ‘Sea of Silence’ is about a family that lives on a cliff by the sea. Their life is unspectacular, until they close the curtains and the circus of violence begins. It is a painful love story about losing autonomy and reclaiming it.
The Voice of Fingers
Thomas Bellinck & Said Reza Adib
Thomas Bellinck is an artist of theatre, installation art and TV from Brussels. Said Reza Adib is a journalist, photographer and filmmaker based in Finland and Greece. For ‘The Voice of Fingers’, Bellinck and Reza start from the tina grooves on their fingertips and zoom out to a world where those grooves determine whether the borders open for you or just stay closed.Diary of an empty bed
Mokhallad Rasem
Mokhallad Rasem is a Belgian-Iraqi author, director, actor, and lecturer. In ‘Diary of an empty bed’, he presents twenty years of personal notes on leaving home. The piece is a poetic invitation to think about the passing of time, about distance and intimacy, about having to say goodbye and starting all over again.
